MURRIETA, Calif. -- Jalen Ramsey stood alone, his arms resting against the top of a chain-link fence as he gazed at the field where fellow USC commits Su'a Cravens and Chris Hawkins prepared to do battle Friday night. The Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy cornerback was far from home after flying into Southern California for the weekend, a trip highlighted by the monumental USC-Notre Dame game on Saturday. The big rivalry match would be Ramsey's first game experience at the Coliseum.
First, though, came the opportunity to see two of his future teammates face off in a highly important playoff matchup.
"I want to see how California ball is different from Tennessee ball," said Ramsey, wearing his cardinal Trojans cap backward. "Ball is different everywhere, but I've seen highlights and tape from out here and it's different when you're seeing this live. I want to see how physical they are out here. And obviously with USC, I just wanted to see how the players would interact in big games like this one against Notre Dame. I want to see how the coaches act before the game. I just want to be in that atmosphere. I heard it's amazing and couldn't wait to see it for myself."
