The time has come today

Playing against a struggling Colorado team, Robert Woods and the Trojans need to put together a dominant performance against the Buffaloes on Saturday. Kirby Lee/US Presswire

In 1968, the L.A.-based, soul-rock group The Chambers Brothers had a high-energy, 11-minute hit called "Time Has Come Today." The Trojans should take the field against the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon with that hard-driving anthem booming out of the Coliseum's sound system.

Thanks to last Sunday's release of the first BCS standings, the Trojans' No. 10 ranking provided much-needed hope when it comes to the national championship picture. With games remaining against BCS-ranked teams such as Oregon (No. 3) and Notre Dame (No. 5), the time has come for the Trojans to stand up and show what they've really got.

Oh sure, USC is 5-1 on the season and most teams would be happy with that record, but not this year's Trojans, especially when they currently possess some of the game's greatest offensive weapons.
