The spotlight can be blinding for some high-profile recruits. Just ask USC defensive end commit Kylie Fitts of Redlands (Calif.) East Valley.
Through four games this season, Fitts has registered only two-and-a-half sacks and nine solo tackles. At the same point last year, the four-star defensive end already had seven sacks and was cementing himself as one of the top local prospects.
Yet, as Fitts can attest to, added recruiting attention often leads to increased scrutiny on the field. It's been nothing short of frustrating.
Kylie Fitts and others have found it's more difficult to succeed on the field after pledging to a big-time program like USC.
