Trojans need an identity
Victory over Cal produced more questions than answers for USC

The two friends were walking slowly out of the Coliseum after Saturday's game when one of them, wearing a blue Berkeley T-shirt, sighed noticeably. "Well," he said, "if nothing else, I guess we're a bit of a second-half team."
"Yeah, at least you can say that," said his buddy in the cardinal-colored USC polo shirt. "I'm not really sure what we are at this point."
Clearly, after a third of the regular season, most Trojans fans agree. Lane Kiffin's erratic 3-1 team still is suffering from a major identity crisis.
