Saturday's showdown is a big test for both Lane Kiffin and David Shaw

LOS ANGELES -- They're only college football opinions, but at least they're all mine:
• Mark this Saturday down as a defining game for both Stanford's David Shaw and USC's Lane Kiffin.
• Shaw delivered an impressive 11-victory season in his debut as a head coach a year ago, but he did it with Andrew Luck. Lots of coaches could have done it with Luck. The question is, how will he do without him? We'll get our first clue against the Trojans.
