USC quarterback gets big chance to make an impression in the Big Apple

They're only college football opinions, but at least they're all mine:
• After that sluggish performance running the ball against Hawaii, USC would be well advised to pick up that part of its game Saturday on the road against Syracuse. Ball control will be pivotal against the pass-happy Orange.
• I know the Trojans are 27-point favorites, but a shaky running game means the defense will be on the field a lot. And the last thing you want to do is wear out those guys this early in the season.
