On paper it's the Hawaii Warriors, coming off a 6-7 campaign in 2011, traveling to take on a USC Trojans squad that finished last season with a 10-2 record. But the storyline likely to steal much of the attention Saturday will be the return of former USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow, now the Warriors' head coach. Hawaii, making its debut in the Mountain West Conference, looks to have an uphill battle against a USC team that landed at No. 1 in the ESPN.com preseason power rankings.
Offense (2011 statistics)
Scoring: 31.5 points per game (No. 3 WAC, No. 36 overall)
Rushing: 95.4 yards per game (No. 8 WAC, No. 113 overall)
While some of the focus Saturday will shift to Norm Chow returning against USC as a head coach, Hawaii faces quite the (obvious) test on the field, particularly with an unproven starter at the helm in QB Sean Schroeder.
