LOS ANGELES  Recruiting a USC Trojans football legacy, the son of a former player, has to be one of the toughest decisions a staff has to make, especially with the current NCAA scholarship limitations in place.

In the best of times, a Trojans recruiting decision on a legacy can either end up in a blaze of glory or in an ugly blaze. When it comes to legacy players of the Cardinal and Gold, the outcome can be either exhilarating or gut-wrenching, depending on the prospect.

On the Trojans' 2012 roster there are two current legacy starters: offensive tackle Kevin Graf and All-American safety T.J. McDonald, sons of former Trojans stars Allan Graf, a starting offensive guard on the fabled 1972 national champions, and Tim McDonald, a consensus 1986 All-American.
