Heidari picking things up quickly
After banner freshman season, Groza Award in placekicker's crosshairs

LOS ANGELES -- Like being in a checkout line at Costco, freshman kickers usually have to wait their turn. But one youthful Trojan went to the front of the Cardinal and Gold placekicking line last spring and finished the 2011 season by being named first-team All-Pac-12.
The placekicking situation for the Trojans heading into last spring might have been a major team concern, but Andre Heidari's early arrival eliminated those issues, as he had the type of season that most freshmen, kickers or not, only dream about.
Despite his inexperience and the pressure that accompanies being a focal point for a storied program, Heidari answered all the questions last season by the converting 15 of 17 field goals, all 50 of his extra point attempts, and making four tackles along the way.
