Martin latest to join fraternity
Being a USC assistant has led to college and professional success for several coaches

LOS ANGELES -- Having finally completed the revamping of his coaching staff with the hiring of former star Kentucky assistant Tee Martin as wide receivers coach, USC head coach Lane Kiffin will soon find out if all the legwork, background checks, and first-hand impressions translate into a successful coaching transition for his staff, players, and, of course, recruiting.
In its fabled history, the Trojans have had more hits than misses in selecting position coaches. After all, when looking at the history of former coaches and current assistants, there is an overwhelmingly impressive list of former and current staff members that have more than made their mark as assistant coaches.
In fact, a number have achieved legendary or at least celebrity status. You think of big impact assistant coaches and recruiters like Marv Goux, Dave Levy, Hudson Houck, and current defensive line coach Ed Orgeron.
