Coming off of a 20-14 win over the American team in the first NFLPA Collegiate All-Star game at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., former USC middle linebacker Chris Galippo treated the game like a business trip rather than just a good time.
Kyle Williams: So you just got done playing in the NFLPA All-Star game. How did the game and the week of practice leading up to the game go? Chris Galippo: Practice last week went well. We were only in full pads for one day, so we didn't get to do that much hitting, but guys were still moving around fast on the field and we all still got in some good work. The only bummer part about the practices was that there wasn't any NFL scouts there, because there were two or three juniors playing. But I think the practices were being streamed live so the scouts could watch, and I also think they could watch in person at the game, so it wasn't too bad. As far as the game went, I thought I did well. I played on every special teams unit, and I had almost 60 plays on defense, so I got some good tape from the game.
