With Matt Barkley at the controls and a ton of talent surrounding him, the Trojans will likely be among the top 3-4 teams in most early polls. There is even some speculation that USC could find itself in the top spot.

It makes sense to give the Trojans that kind of respect. They ended the 2011 season as hot as any team in college football, and head coach Lane Kiffin made enough of the right chess moves to show that he is ready to lead this team back among the elite in college football.
