Quick hitters: Doling over the Heisman
Could NYC snub of Matt Barkley bring the USC quarterback back for another year?

LOS ANGELES -- They're only opinions, but at least they're all mine:
• It's possible that Matt Barkley finishing sixth in the Heisman race is great news for the Trojans. He wasn't invited to New York, he didn't get to feel the excitement and maybe, just maybe, that made him long for a chance to come back next year and be the one in the national spotlight.
• If Barkley does return for his senior year, he automatically becomes the 2012 Heisman frontrunner.
