Reviewing Matt Kalil's status
The USC junior left tackle is almost guaranteed to be a top-5 pick if he declares

LOS ANGELES -- With all of Trojan Nation sitting on the edge of its seat waiting to hear whether or not its quarterback will leave for the NFL or come back and compete for a Rose Bowl or even a BCS championship, it's USC's left tackle who it really needs to keep its eyes on. What junior offensive lineman Matt Kalil decides could have a direct effect on Matt Barkley's decision. While the two have the opportunity to solidify the Trojans' position back in the national spotlight, the two will have to lead different paths on their decision to leave for the NFL. Like Barkley, there are some reasons for Kalil to consider staying in school for another year. With four new coaches, three of them being in the Pac-12 South Division with USC, the Trojans have a great opportunity to find themselves undefeated and possibly playing for a place in the national championship game heading into the Pac-12 championship game.
