LOS ANGELES -- While sitting in the Coliseum on a dark and cloudy Saturday afternoon, I was totally prepared to write a glorious piece on USC's resounding 40-17 pounding of the Washington Huskies.

Indeed, the Men of Troy deserved the riches of such words after their impressive Pac-12 victory, especially after previously suffering back-to-back, game-losing field goals at the hands of the lads from Seattle. It seemed to me like a no-brainer.

It was a no-brainer, until I got home and watched Oregon's 53-30 dismantling of the self-destructing and previously undefeated Stanford Cardinal.
