A lot more will be learned about the Trojans after this weekend

LOS ANGELES -- This is the game that answers all of USC's questions.
So far, the Trojans, with their 5-1 record and wildly divergent performances, have provided few insights. This week we don't have to worry about that.
This is the turning point of their schedule. This is the game that allows us to peer past the often confusing statistics and discover the real identity of this group. Playing a good, seemingly improving Notre Dame squad in the intimidating environs of South Bend not only tells us what this USC team is, but where it is going from here.
