For a Trojans fan, there's nothing like the bi-annual trip to South Bend

LOS ANGLES -- If you're at one of the six major airports in Southern California this week and find yourself swimming in a sea of cardinal and gold, it can only mean one thing: It's the Notre Dame Weekender.
The first thing you need to know about the celebrated Notre Dame Weekender is that it's more than "just a weekend" of exciting college football. In reality, it should be called the Notre Dame Halfweeker.
Why do upward of 9,000 Trojans fans travel midweek from Southern California back to Chicago and South Bend?
