Tale of two halves finally the same
USC's best effort comes at opportune time, as its schedule is about to intensify

LOS ANGELES -- Finish! Finish, Finish!
That was USC coach Lane Kiffin's loud-and-clear theme all week at practice, and apparently his undefeated club got the message and relayed it to the Syracuse Orange.
The Trojans' 38-17 victory Saturday night in the Coliseum was validation of Kiffin's communication, especially in the second half, when the Men of Troy exploded for 21 points. This certainly was a far cry from the previous two weeks' worth of exasperation.
