LOS ANGELES -- Cerritos College will host some of the West Coast's top talent on Sunday during the Los Angeles Nike Football Training Camp, as prospects from several states will compete for positional MVP awards, as well as invitations to Nike's The Opening.
Eight players scheduled to attend already hold offers from the USC Trojans. Those have gone out to linebacker Michael Hutchings (Concord, Calif./De La Salle), safeties Max Redfield (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) and Tahaan Goodman (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga), cornerbacks Priest Willis (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos De Niza), Johnny Johnson Jr. (Fresno, Calif./Central) and Chris Hawkins (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga), defensive end Joe Mathis (Upland, Calif./Upland) and offensive tackle Nico Falah (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco).
It should be interesting to watch if Mathis and Falah ever square up during one-on-one battles, while naming a MVP of the defensive back group could turn into one of the more difficult decisions of the entire Nike Camp tour.
