LOS ANGELES -- Recruiting is a constant demand heaped upon college football coaches. To excel at this level, coaches must embrace the Sisyphean nature of the process, because no sooner is one class signed than the next steps into focus.
WeAreSC takes a look at positional needs, along with in-state and national recruits for USC fans to keep an eye on for the class of 2013. The Trojans will again be limited to 15 scholarships in this class, but will be able to bring in up to three additional early enrollees, which can count against the 2012 class.
Quarterback
After making a late run at Washington signee Cyler Miles and coming up short, Lane Kiffin will almost certainly bring in a quarterback in 2013. The Trojans will use several factors to their advantage in chasing some of the country's top talents, including a likely Heisman Trophy run by Matt Barkley. A 2013 freshman will have an opportunity to compete for the starting spot with Barkley off to the NFL. Depending on how the roster shakes out over the coming year, he could step foot on campus as the No. 3 quarterback at worst.
