LOS ANGELES -- Who would have thought it would be this hard for the USC Trojans to find a tailback?

The school known as "Tailback U" is facing the prospect of entering the 2012 season with only three scholarship tailbacks on the roster unless the coaches can find another back to sign in the next two weeks.

At this point, the Trojans have a solid shot with one of the more versatile backs on the West Coast in D.J. Foster (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro). It's not a done deal by any means though, as Foster is also considering hometown Arizona State in addition to California.
