Kirby Lee/US PresswireUSC DL coach Ed Orgeron is known as one of the best recruiters in the game, but he has competition in California's Tosh Lupoi.
Orgeron and Lupoi are respectfully having at it in the middle of the Southern California recruiting ring, going toe-to-toe for the best defensive lineman on the West Coast, Monrovia High School's Ellis McCarthy, a man-child from the San Gabriel Valley who could be the centerpiece for the Trojans or Golden Bears' 2012 recruiting class.

To understand the dynamics of this McCarthy battle between Orgeron and Lupoi, you have to understand that each coach comes from vastly different backgrounds and experiences.
