USC's verbal commitments have finished regular-season play, but a majority of them still will be busy Friday in the first round of the Southern California playoffs. WeAreSC takes a look at what the postseason holds for the Trojans commits.
TE Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick (Rocklin, Calif./Whitney): Whitney is already into the second round of the playoffs after posting a 48-21 victory over Woodland Pioneer. Cope-Fitzpatrick caught two passes for 45 yards, including a 20-yarder for a touchdown. This week, Cope-Fitzpatrick and Whitney take on Elk Grove Cosumnes Oaks and cornerback Marcus Rios, which shut out No. 3 seed Manteca, 14-0, in the first round. Cope-Fitzpatrick currently has 24 receptions for 351 yards and three touchdowns along with 28 tackles and three sacks on defense.
WR Jaydon Mickens (Los Angeles/Dorsey): Starring at wide receiver, quarterback and on special teams, Mickens helped Dorsey to a No. 3 seed in the City Section playoffs and a matchup with Los Angeles Fairfax. The Dons will rely on their defense, which features defensive end Jeremiah Allison, as they look to march through the playoffs. Mickens finished the regular season with 71 carries for 291 yards and 11 touchdowns, 22 receptions for 343 yards and three touchdowns, as well as two punt returns for touchdowns.
