SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- When Max Browne (Sammamish, Wash./Skyline) drops back to pass on the first snap of the final game of his high school career, there is a good chance the quarterback will make history.
The 6-foot-5, 214-pound USC commit needs 9 yards to set Washington's career mark for passing yardage.
If he doesn't set the record on his first attempt, it won't take more than a few throws in Saturday's Class 4A title game against Tacoma (Wash.) Bellarmine Prep for Browne to become the most prolific passer in state history, passing Brian Lindgren (Walla Walla, Wash./DeSales), who threw for 12,575 yards from 1996-98.
