WeAreSC: 2014 ATH Tyler Luatua

La Mirada (Calif.) athlete Tyler Luatua, one of the country's most coveted 2014 recruits, talks to Blair Angulo about his team's season opening win, improvement and the three schools he's hearing from.

LA MIRADA, Calif. -- Mike Moschetti pulled down the bill of his cap, closed his eyes and shook his head. The La Mirada football coach spent all summer planning for the season opener, refining plays and adjusting schemes, thinking of ways to make this year's debut a successful one.

But this wasn't how Moschetti had drawn it up. He shook his head again.

"It was something I've never seen before," Moschetti said. "This was weird."

The plan was to get dynamic class of 2014 tight end Tyler Luatua involved as much as possible, maybe throw the ball his way a dozen times, get him in open space and let him dazzle. Luatua, one of the area's most coveted recruits, would merit that type of use.
