BELLFLOWER, Calif. -- It's a scorching Southern California afternoon, and Manzur Falah stands in the shade to escape the triple-digit heat as his son, Nico, jogs off the St. John Bosco football practice field for a water break. Nico removes his helmet, takes a swig and returns to drills at the sound of the whistle.
Manzur, a UCLA alum raising a USC commit, looks on with his head held high, prouder than he's ever been.
"We grew up a Bruin family," Manzur said, realizing it's all about to change. "I told him not to pick a school for the coaches, to pick a school for the program. Coaches, unfortunately, come and go. His decision really rested upon where he felt most comfortable."
