LOS ANGELES -- When college coaches visit high school campuses during the spring evaluation period, every recruit is hoping to hit a metaphorical home run during that workout. After Helton filmed Vanderdoes during a weight room session, he was in attendance for an afternoon baseball game in which Vanderdoes went 3-for-4 and crushed a home run over the centerfield fence.
