LOS ANGELES -- USC hosted two Tampa standouts this weekend, as wide receiver Nelson Agholor (Tampa/Berkeley Prep) and defensive end Tyriq McCord (Tampa/Jefferson) made their long-awaited return trips to see the Trojans.
Agholor and McCord took unofficial visits to USC for the Rising Stars Camp over the summer and remained in close contact with the coaches.
McCord verbally committed to Miami during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, and shortly before his visit to USC, he confirmed that his commitment to the Hurricanes was solid. After the trip, reports were that the distance likely will be too much for USC to overcome. The USC coaches will continue to recruit McCord until signing day, but location was always thought to be a factor for McCord, and as much as he loves the USC campus, there is just no way to move it closer to Tampa.
