LOS ANGELES -- It is tough to imagine a recruit more looking forward to flipping the calendar from 2011 to 2012 than junior quarterback Hayden Rettig (Los Angeles/Cathedral).
After throwing for a school-record 508 yards, including six touchdowns, in a season-opening win, Rettig suffered a torn ACL the following week and was forced to watch the rest of the seaspn from the sideline. With Rettig out, Cathedral turned a 2-0 start into a 3-7 finish, scoring eight points or fewer six times, including three shutouts.
"It was tough," Rettig said of missing the season. "But with the new year here, I think it will be good. There are a lot of things on my mind I need to get done before my senior season is finished. I think I can accomplish a couple of those goals, and the team could accomplish a couple of those."
Los Angeles junior quarterback Hayden Rettig, recovering from a torn ACL, is ready to prove that he's one of the best signal-callers in his class.
