USC commits, targets dot all-star teams

10/21/2011

LOS ANGELES -- A Trinity League showdown is slated for tonight, while USC recruits and commits are involved in several other intriguing matchups this week. WeAreSC takes a look at five interesting Friday night games, as well as the announced rosters for upcoming all-star showcase games.

Orange Lutheran (5-1) vs. Santa Margarita (5-1)
This is a huge game in the Trinity League, as both teams are looking to right the ship after suffering a first loss of the season last week. Lutheran's was easy to see coming, as it took on Anaheim Servite, but Santa Margarita going down at the hands of Santa Ana Mater Dei ranks up there with the surprises of the season.

This could be a must-win game for USC commit Max Tuerk and the Eagles, as Santa Margarita will need three league wins to get into the playoffs. With four games remaining -- against Lutheran, San Juan Capistrano JSerra, Bellflower St. John Bosco and Servite -- three wins will be quite a challenge if the Eagles don't pick one up here. The Lancers are led by 2013 offensive lineman John Lopez, who holds a UCLA offer and is being recruited by programs across the country.
