Hutchings handling new positions
De La Salle LB has gone from safety to linebacker and back

LOS ANGELES -- Michael Hutchings is recognized as one of the top linebackers in the state of California, regardless of class standing. The Concord De La Salle standout is closing in on a dozen offers before the midpoint of his junior season and could wind up as one of the more highly recruited player in the country before the end of his senior year.
But as part of one of the most prestigious high school programs in the country, past accolades don't mean much, and Hutchings wasn't exactly pulling his weight early in the year.
"I was practicing really slowly," Hutchings said. "I got a slow start playing inside linebacker. That first month was kind of a transition month as I got back into the flow.
