After debacle in Dallas, expectations are adjusting again for Longhorns

We live in a world of projection. Companies project profits. Polls project the future president. I projected my children's aptitude before they stepped in their first school class.
Recruiting high school athletes to college is about projection. The NFL draft is about projection. The brand new BCS is a qualified projection to find the top two teams in the country based on the fact that most times they will have not played common opponents.
When the Texas Longhorns beat Wyoming, New Mexico and Ole Miss the projection was that the team had a possibility to play well in the Big 12. When Texas went on the road to beat Oklahoma State and did it with a powerful offense, the expectations changed again for the better.
