SUGAR LAND, Texas -- Duane Akina is watching.
You can't miss him, in his orange shirt and black slacks and dark sunglasses, his arms folded. He's here to evaluate Maurice Smith, the Sugar Land Dulles cornerback coveted by some of the nation's biggest and best programs.
Two years ago, Akina was standing on this same practice field scouting future Longhorn Sheroid Evans. Back then, Smith would've done anything to get an offer from Texas.
