AUSTIN, Texas -- The conclusion of Texas' spring game was 30 minutes old and Longhorns head coach Mack Brown was holding his news conference in the multipurpose room of the Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletic Center on March 30.
His focus, at that time, could not be centered on the several dozen recruits that traveled to Austin for the weekend's festivities.
Yes, he'd met with plenty of them before kickoff, extending offers to a combination of six 2014 and 2015 prospects, and even garnered a few commitments. But this was a crucial time for he and his coaching staff to make a lasting impression before the recruits and their families fought traffic out of the university.
With 15 commits already, Texas is off to a blazing start recruiting for the Class of 2014. And though the Longhorns haven't performed as well on the field the last three seasons, Mack Brown and Co. can still accumulate talent.
