AUSTIN, Texas -- The opportunity to live out a dream was just too much to pass up for wide receiver Kendall Sanders (Athens, Texas/ Athens).
There he was, the day before Thanksgiving, engaged in conversation with Mack Brown inside the Texas coach's office in the shadow of Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Sanders, who was still committed to Oklahoma State at the time, grew up a Texas fan. He didn't have a clue what was coming next. What transpired was something he'd dreamed about all his life: he'd been offered a scholarship to the University of Texas.
"He just told me he was sorry that the offer hadn't come sooner, and that the numbers just hadn't lined up," Sanders said. "Plus I had already committed to Oklahoma State.
It was a tough decision for Kendall Sanders to de-commit from Oklahoma State, but the wide receiver couldn't pass on his dream of being a Longhorn.
