AUSTIN, Texas -- This story has been written before.
The one about the All-American quarterback with more accolades than an Eagle Scout who is being anointed as the next sure thing for the Longhorns before he ever even steps foot on campus.
The last time this story was written was in 2008, and things went about as smoothly as a reality show wedding.
Garrett Gilbert, who set multiple Texas high school passing records and won two state titles at Lake Travis, never came close to living up to the lofty expectations that were, fairly on unfairly, placed upon him prior to his arrival. He has since transferred from the program.
