Class of 2012 defensive end Javonte Magee (San Antonio/Sam Houston) has been extremely quiet with his recruitment this season. And that's exactly how it will remain until his high school career comes to a close.
Magee, a four-star recruit and the No. 18 defensive end in 2012, has been solely focused on his season, which will continue Friday when the Hurricanes (8-2) face Devine (10-0) in the first round of the Class 3A Division I playoffs.
Once the season is done, he will sift through several dozen offers to determine where he will take his official visits. Texas is among his offers, but he's not considering specific schools at the moment. Magee told HornsNation that he would like to remain close to home so his mother, Mary Griffin, can watch him play.
Magee said Texas Tech and Illinois were the most recent programs to stop by his school.

The source said that Edwards was unable to make his planned official visit to Texas on Oct. 15 because of a scheduling issue. Edwards spent this past weekend at home and watched the LSU-Alabama game.To continue reading this article you must be an Insider
