AUSTIN, Texas -- Class of 2012 athlete Daje Johnson (Pflugerville, Texas/Hendrickson) is still solid with his commitment to TCU. But that didn't stop him from texting Longhorns coach Mack Brown on Saturday to gauge Texas' interest level.
Johnson, who committed to the Horned Frogs on March 24, got Brown's number from Longhorns commitment Cayleb Jones (Austin, Texas/ Austin). He reached out to Brown just before Texas' game against BYU, but hasn't heard back.
"I do have interest in the Longhorns. I'm not going to lie," Johnson said. "But they haven't contacted me."
The last time Johnson was in contact with the Longhorns was when he worked out as a cornerback at a summer camp after his sophomore year.
