What needs to happen for the Sooners to be a true national contender

NORMAN, Okla. -- Two weeks ago, ESPN baseball Insider Buster Olney detailed what the Yankees need to go right in 2013 to contend.
In many ways, the Sooners are analogous to the Yankees. A proud, tradition-rich franchise that has struggled to contend for titles in recent years, and, by past standards, won't command much of the preseason title discussions.
Still, like the Yankees, Oklahoma has talent on the roster. And yet like the Yankees, the Sooners will need several things to go right to contend at least past October -- something they haven't done since 2008. Here are those things:
