NORMAN, Okla. -- SoonerNation takes a look at Oklahoma's projected defensive depth chart for the spring. We examined the offensive spring depth chart Monday. Classifications in parentheses are for the 2012 season:
Defensive tackle
Jamarkus McFarland (Sr.), Casey Walker (Sr.), Stacy McGee (Sr.), Marquis Anderson (RFr.), Jordan Phillips (RFr.), Damon Williams (RFr.) Jordan Wade (Fr.)
This will be a very interesting position to watch. Can any of the youngsters make an impact? They need to for the defensive line to be anything above average. Phillips has the athleticism, and Wade has the size. Both could have played this season, but preseason academic issues kept either from enrolling on time. McFarland had a very solid performance against Iowa, and could be on the verge of turning the corner to provide the Sooners with an experienced stalwart. Walker and McGee have had their moments, but neither is a difference maker up front. OU hasn't taken any defensive tackles in this recruiting class, showing they believe in their freshmen. We'll see.
