NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma's disappointing season exposed some cracks in the foundation of a program that is expected to -- and has the ability to -- compete for a BCS championship every season.

Make no mistake, 9-3 is a successful season but it's not good enough at the University of Oklahoma. Particularly when it is easy to argue that the Sooners were only beaten in one game and they lost the other two.

While there are problems, there's no reason the Sooners can't be in the thick of the BCS title chase as Thanksgiving approaches in 2012, they just need address their problems -- some short term, some long term -- immediately.
