He was only there for one year, but that's all it took. One season at Oklahoma was enough for Tyrone Rodgers to feel like he has a lifelong bond to the Sooners.
Rodgers was a defensive tackle for OU's 1988 team before deciding to transfer to Washington.
"It doesn't matter it was only one season," he said. "It was a different bond with our freshman class. It was a brotherhood. It has never gone away."
Maryland four-star offensive tackle Na'Ty Rodgers, who has an offer from Oklahoma and will be visiting the Sooners in two weeks, has a family tie to OU. His father, Tyrone, played for the Sooners for a season.
