Sooners are playing the waiting game with top defensive back targets in class

It didn't take long for Mike Stoops to make his imprint on the Oklahoma defense when he returned as defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator earlier this year.
When Stoops came back to OU in January, the Sooners' 2012 defensive class was in shambles. In the final week leading up to national signing day, Stoops was able to snag two quality cornerbacks in Gary Simon (St. Petersburg, Fla./Gibbs) and Zack Sanchez (Keller, Texas/Central).
Despite being with the Sooners for less than a month, Stoops already was making sure the 2012 defensive backs were his guys. Nothing has changed in the pursuit of 2013 recruits, as Stoops is recruiting the big, physical corners he likes so much.
