Oklahoma signed just eight defensive prospects for their 2012 class, and here's why

NORMAN, Okla. -- There is no question Oklahoma closed out strong for its 2012 recruiting class, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Yes, you read that. Defensive recruiting had left much to be desired through the 2012 recruiting period, but the Sooners did the best job they possibly could have in the final two weeks.
OU signed three high school defensive recruits since Sunday, more than what the Sooners had signed for the entire year.
