Tight end Terrell Mitchell (Fort Scott, Kan./Fort Scott CC) told SoonerNation Tuesday night that he verbally committed to Oklahoma over the weekend, but there's still one hurdle before he becomes OU's 15th commit.
Mitchell told coach Bob Stoops he was committing to the Sooners last weekend, and he said Stoops told him that once everything checks out medically, the coach wants him to be a Sooner. Mitchell took an official visit to OU for the Texas A&M game.
"He told me he's ready for me to be there and wants to welcome me to the family. He's hoping I'm on campus in January," Mitchell said. "He told me to keep rehabbing, and that he hopes everything he hears from the doctors is positive news."
