NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma and Texas battle it out on the field on the second Saturday of October each season.
The rest of the year, they battle it out on the recruiting trail. During Bob Stoops' tenure at OU, the Sooners' head coach has won plenty of recruiting battles against Mack Brown and the Longhorns. Here's a look at three notable recruiting victories for Stoops over Brown:
Tommie Harris, DT
Killeen, Texas/Ellison
Class of 2001
Harris was an elite prospect considered by many to be the best player in the state of Texas. He picked OU over Texas, Miami, Florida State and others, and was arguably Bob Stoops' biggest recruiting coup during his first few seasons at OU.
