Missed opportunities doom Michigan

Costly turnovers, special teams errors and Iowa running game too much for Wolverines

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Denard Robinson kept scrambling backward, trying to elude a defender as he always does. Yet this time, as the Michigan quarterback broke free from Iowa linebacker Tyler Nielsen's grasp, he also did something else.

He lost the ball.

It was one of two turnovers in the first half for Michigan, two missed chances for points -- the second coming inside the Iowa red zone. If you're looking for an easy explanation for what happened Saturday during Michigan's 24-16 loss to Iowa, it is this.
