Michigan State looks stout defensively, but offensive sum hasn't been equal to the parts

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Entering the season, it was anticipated that Michigan State would be one of the Wolverines' toughest opponents.
Against Ohio State on Oct. 1, the Spartans' defense made that appear to be the case. Their offense, however, was another story.
Michigan State beat Ohio State, 10-7, but it was not a pretty performance for either team on a rainy, messy day in Columbus, Ohio. Here's what stood out -- good and bad -- for the Spartans that day.
