The junior defensive tackle lay on the turf inside Schembechler Hall on the morning of Friday, Sept. 28. The Wolverines were practicing because they didn't play the next day, with a Saturday off before the Big Ten season began. Brink had been involved in a drill in practice, and he took what he says was a reasonably nondescript blow to the head.
Former walk-on Nathan Brink had emerged as a rotation player on the defensive eline and even had earned a scholarship before one last concussion forced him to walk away.
