ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- On Monday, Ron English didn't seem overly pleased with the way his team played in its 14-7 win over FCS Alabama State.

After watching the tape, he knew why. Eastern Michigan has some good pieces, but overall the Eagles didn't look great. They committed too many penalties and couldn't take advantage of a game in which they dominated on the ground.

Defensively, Alabama State was able to move the ball in spurts on Eastern Michigan. The Eagles know they'll have to play a lot better to have a chance Saturday against Michigan.
